GILGIT (INP): The personal house of Governor Gilgit Baltistan Pir Karam Ali Shah in Islamabad has been converted into governor’s camp office and its monthly rent has been set at Rs370,000.
Well placed sources in the provincial government told INP that Rs20 million have also been allotted by the provincial government for the decoration of the two-room house.
The sources revealed that this illegal contract has been given to the brother of the minister for construction. The sources further said that the governor put a lot of pressure on the provincial for approval of Rs20 million and got the said amount despite poor economic condition of Gilgit-Baltistan.
When contacted, the officials of the provincial finance department failed to give a satisfactory reply in this regard.
