Gilgit-Baltistan: Spring Extravaganza at NUML

Islamabad (APP): Young students, families and a great number of fun lovers thronged to celebrate the arrival of spring at Annual Spring Extravaganza at National University of Modern Languages (NUML).
The extravaganza showcased more than 30 stalls of different items by the faculty members and students of the university, offering variety of products including different food items.
The stalls of garments, handicrafts, arts and crafts, kites, jewelry, toys, face painting, music and books also amused the visitors.
A stall where students were trying their voices and dedicating different songs to their friends was source of attraction for all.
A number of students took interest in the Pakistan Regional Cultural Show exhibiting the culture of Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Sindh, Punjab, Kashmir, Pakhtunkhwa and Seraiki which was the part of extravaganza.
“We all are doing fun by dancing on Sindhi folk tunes and wearing the traditional Ajrak and Sindhi cap to represent Sindhi culture” said a Chinese Student Yang Sheen at Pakistani Regional Cultural Show.
A great number of foreign students and visitors also enjoyed and appreciated the show.
The students dressed in traditional outfits, turbans and caps of these areas danced on their traditional cultural dances and captivated the audience.
A student of Mass Communication, Muhammad Irfan said that “He and his friends are enjoying kite flying and variety of food items”.
Another student of MA English, Muhammad Aamir stated that “it is always beneficial to provide students an opportunity to explore and exhibit their talents by arranging and managing different co-curricular events on their own. And this annual spring is one of the biggest and most awaited events of the University and we love to participate in it”.
A great number of visitors thronged the stalls of Chapli Kabab, Multani Khusa and dresses which were arranged by the Peshawar Regional Campus and Multan Campus.
Rector NUML Maj General (R) Masood Hasan, Director General Brig Azam Jamal and event coordinator Dr Shaheena Ayub Bhatti and directors visited different stalls and appreciated the efforts of the students.
Rector NUML said that university will continue to arrange events for the students to provide them a positive and healthy entertainment at the campus.
The Rector and DG also witnessed the Regional Cultural Show and felicitate the participants for projecting the different colours of Pakistan.
The Regional Directors of seven regional campuses also visited the Spring Extravaganza and visited the stalls of their respective campuses.
